Katherine Gourianova, Dana Shkolny and Patty Lee. We are curling in the annual Lupus Spiel (May 31 – June 2) to promote awareness and support for people who are struggling with Lupus. Lupus, also known as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks its own tissues causing joint pain, fever, rashes, chest pain, sensitivity to light as well as many other symptoms. It can affect almost any organ in the body and can present differently from patient to patient. Lupus patients are also at increased risk of heart disease. The cause of lupus is not known but it is the subject of much research. Want to help? Your contributions will be used for lupus research at the following organizations:
